jewelry or art?????

So I've been dabbling in altered arts and collaging and mixed media type stuff. Very creative and very fun. I had some extra pieces laying around and the black and white and silver was calling my name, pleading with me to make them into a necklace. However, I don't know that I would wear this or not. Can't decide. Most of the time it will probably grace my art area as decoration. Aiden loves it though. He touched each piece (carefully) and whispered 'wow' every time. Very cute.

All of the colors are much brighter and shinier in person. I didn't get the best pictures of them.

Musings of a Mom

These are some statements from a book that really spoke to me. Being a SAHM is a very draining job, and it is nice to think about my job with an eternal perspective.

Your home really is holy ground because it's a place where God has chosen to live and do his work.

I've come to cherish the understanding that my home and my family are not only God's gifts to me, but a holy trust. They are central to God's purpose for my life - his chosen vehicles for bringing about the future. Home is a place for me to live and to leave a legacy - to build something lasting on holy ground. That reality has been a part of God's plan from the very dawn of creation.

Home matters to God...and it should matter to you. It's at the heart of who you are as a mom and as a person.

And this, I believe, is where God always starts: with who we are as women. It's where he wants to start with you in this worthy calling of shaping a home environment that honors him.

The truth is, if you want your home to be a peaceful place that you and your family long to come home to, you have to do it on purpose.

YETISPORTS

these games are so mindless, yet so addictive and fun. My favorite is the Seal Bounce.

YETISPORTS by chris hilgert

I have to say, I'm loving this blogging thing. I feel like I'm talking to someone, even when I'm home alone. And when I only talk to a 2 year old and a 4 year old all day, it is nice to feel like I'm talking to a grown up LOL. My internet toolbar has a little button that I can push, so anytime I'm on a website, I can add it to my blog just by pushing it. How convenient! That means I'll be blogging more than I thought LOL.

Alysa and Aiden

oh good. I finally figured out this Picasa/BloggerBot/Hello photo program LOL. These are my munchkins. Alysa is going to be 4 in April and Aiden will be 2 in February.

first entry

Oh dear - what have I done?? I've jumped on the bandwagon and started a blog. I'm feeling very intimidated right about now. I tend to be a very private person and the thought of putting my thoughts down for all to see is a little scary. But I know it's good for me to break out of my shell, so voila. Here I am.

It has finally settled down here at home. My dh is off playing Risk with some friends, I've tucked my tired tot (say that 10 times fast LOL) Aiden into bed, and Alysa is playing in her room. She didn't want to play alone 'I need somebody, mom' so she went and found our cat, Charcoal and he is laying on her floor watching her play. So cute. She took a bath tonight and Dh divided her hair in half and braided each half, and she has cute striped pj's on and she looks so adorable. And I am sitting here, drinking my tea and chilling out on the computer. The only thing that would make this night more perfect and relaxing is if ER was on LOL.
